Mae Hong Son LoopThailandChiang Mai
The unbelievable Mae Hong Son Loop rated as one of the worlds top motorcycle tours and a must when you come to ride Thailand.
This motorcycle tour offers a sweet four day taster of this stunning road, built by the Japanese during WW11 to access troops into Burma and by grading the old buffalo trails rather than cut through the mountains they created a stunning masterpiece with more twists and bends than you can possibly imagine, perfectly laid road with few other road users.
Keeping with our tradition of offering top notch motorbike tours away from mainstream tourism we've utilised some brand new roads off the main loop, still as stunning, still as twisty and allowing us to escape the madding crowd and experience some of the best scenery which just a few years ago would only be accessible on a dirt bike.
This is a 4 day 3 night motorbike tour visiting some of the least explored regions in the area includes accommodation in remote and very unique locations. There is a wide choice of bikes available as an option but unless you are of a bigger frame this route demands smaller bikes Super bikes do not fair well on this route the, Honda CBR 300 or Honda CBR500X are ample for these roads. The 300cc is standard on this tour but if you take a pillion rider we offer a free upgrade to the Honda CB500X.
Day One (190 kilometers) Hill Tribe Country
Depart Chiang Mai around 8:30am heading west and into the Shan mountain range on perfectly laid back roads into the cooler mountain air. Not a particularly long day in the saddle as we plan on arriving at our unique accommodation early to experience life in a hill tribe village take a cool dip in the local waterfall and have a late lunch among stunning forest views 1300 meters above sea level. Accommodation tonight is a unique 'Rustic' hill tribe lodge with all amenities, great food and in most cases we will be the only guests. A night to remember!
Day Two (260 Kilometers) Tea Plantations
310 kilometers of unbeatable road with a side trip to remember. Today is a varied day of perfect black top and back roads riding the 'Road To Mandalay to the Border of Burma. After a BBQ lunch we head back into the mountains along the famous Mae Hong Son Loop and up to 1200 meters above sea level for a night directly on the Burma border in 'Little Yunnan" and predominantly Chinese village and tea plantation.
Day Three (330 Kilometers) Teak Tree Corridor
Stunning riding today and today is all about the ride. The famous Mae Hong Son Loop riding down the border with Burma on simply magnificent roads through teak tree plantations on roads hugging the contour of the mountains, today is all about the road lets ride it how it was meant to be ridden. After lunch we make our way to a beautiful rustic lodge with bungalows nestled in the forest alongside a small river and a feast fit for a king.
Day Four (240 Kilometers) Thailands Highest mountain
Leaving bright and early we make our way back to Chiang Mai. We could make it a short trip on long straight roads but who wants that? Yet again we're taking the back roads around the highest mountain in Thailand 2565 meters above sea level and returning back to Chiang Mai around 3pm to end a short but exciting motorcycle tour.

I joined a small group of 4 on the 3 day tour and had a brilliant time. Both nights accommodation blew me away especially the Hill tribe Lodge and the roads were even more surprising, the UK needs to take a leaf out of Thailands book for building roads. Although it was only a short tour it was great fun on and off the bikes. Thanks for a great trip.
Great trip in every way. Me and my mate signed up for this trip as a private tour and they extended it for us. Great roads, some in the middle of nowhere, great accommodation and a good support team. We will be back for round two.
